Fifty Years of My Life (1939 - 1990)
A Memoir by Jeff R. Noordermeer

Epilogue - Jeff Noordermeer passed away

Jeff Noordermeer passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 10:10 PM at Sibley Hospital in the company of his friends and family. A few days before, he had checked himself into the hospital with chest pains. The heart attack was followed by a stroke which took his life.

Jeff had commended his soul to God and was at peace with himself. He was just trying to enjoy the time that he had left on Earth. Two weeks before his death, Jeff, Josephine and I went to the casino at Dover Downs, Delaware. The last picture that I took of Jeff was the one below, as he was getting out of the car at Dover Downs on an overcast and windy day. Jeff was not a big gambler, but he loved to hear the clinking of the slot machines. He said that the sound of the machines made him forget all his health problems.

Jeff was always honest and said what he thought. He had learned a lot in life and he liked to share his experience. He was always considerate and treated everyone with respect. Nobody was ever bored in his company.

Farewell, dear friend, you will be forever in our thoughts.
