Sur La Place specializes in Belgian cuisine since it opened in November of 2009. The menu has over 20 varieties of mussels and over 30 varieties of Belgian beer. The entrées include dishes such as grilled duck pate, wild boar, cranberry sausage and seafood bouillabaisse with shrimp, mussels, salmon, sea scallops, and lobster. The menu of Sur La Place is similar to Mannequin Pis in Olney, MD because both restaurants were established by the same owners.
A basket of warm bread and curls of butter is brought to your table while you wait for your meal.
The Carbonnade Flamande is a Flemish Bier Beef Stew served with Pommes Frites. This is a rustic, meaty and tasty dish prepared with a substantial amount of onions.
The Salmon Filet is pan seared and accompanied by Hericot Vert (green beans), Scallions, Pommes Puree (potato purée) and topped with a white wine sauce.
