The East Pearl restaurant is located along Rockville Pike across from the Wintergreen Plaza Shopping Center. There is plenty of parking around the building and along the access road in front of the building.
The staff is attentive and prompt. A pot of tea is brought to your table shortly after you sit down. The menu has a large selection of vegetarian, seafood and meat entrées.
The wonton noodle soup is delicious. The wontons are filled with shrimp and the egg noodles have a nice chewy consistency. The broth is well seasoned and it is garnished with chopped green onions and Chinese broccoli.
The spicy sautéed jumbo shrimp with mixed vegetables has a good presentation on the plate and it is very tasty. The shrimp were very fresh and not overcooked. The entrée had several hot chili peppers, but because they were whole, the food had a peppery taste without being too spicy.
The fried fish with green onions was flavored with a bean sauce. This was also a very good dish where the texture of the soft fish contrasted with the crunchiness of the vegetables.
Overall the East Pearl restaurant made a good impression. The service was good, and the food was fresh and tasty. It is worth going back to try some of the other dishes.
